The Laurel's have planned for us to all bring some homemade cookies and goodies this Wednesday to be plated on value plates then distributed to women in the ward that represent that value.

Youth Temple Trip

December 8th, 2012 we will be having a Youth temple trip to the Spokane temple.  We will be meeting at Gary and Leo's at 7:15am and will be leaving at 7:30am SHARP.  I hope you all can go to the temple.

Who for: Everyone between ages 0-100!!  Come even if you don't have kids and enjoy an evening of socializing inside, or decorate the back of your car and pass out candy!!

FYI: for those who plan to pass out candy at your car, PLEASE park the back of your car right up against the sidewalk so the kids can walk along the sidewalk around the church.

You will have a spooky good time!!!

Personal Progress for the week of September 30th

Personal progress for this week is Choice and accountability 5 or 6 or 5 & 6 .  They both can be done in one day.

Personal Progress for the week of Septmber 9th

We decided to change this weeks Personal Progress to Virtue #3.  Hopefully all of our families are planning to go on the Stake Temple trip this weekend, so we thought it would be a good idea to do some personal progress that will help us to prepare to go to the temple.  Preparing to go to the temple is a very important thing to do, so please get started on this person progress as soon as you can so that you may be able to be in a continued state of prayerful preparedness this week. I look forward to seeing you all at the temple.

Personal Progress

As the Young Womens Presidency we decided that we would like to start working on Personal Progress together with all the Young Women, Leaders and Moms.  This week we chose to work on Faith #2 in our Personal Progress book.  We are starting out simple, this Personal Progress is one that you can complete in less then a day.  You can click on the the Faith #2 and it will take you right to the Personal Progress page on the LDS website.  The Personal Progress page is a great tool, so take advantage of it.  Everything is a click away and just in case you were wondering, the journaling is totally confidential only you can read your journal.

This Wednesday we are meeting at the Florence bridge to float the river at 5:30pm.  We are combined with the YM and we will be having BBQ at the end of the float trip at Chief Looking Glass.  Parents need to pick you up at 8:30pm at Chief Looking Glass.  Please bring a floating device, if you have one.

August Temple Trip Canceled/ Stake Temple Day

Our August Temple trip has been canceled. :( We would like to invite you all to attend the September Stake Temple Day at the Spokane Temple September 14th & 15th.  Sign-ups for the Stake Temple Day are in the foyer.

Youth Temple Trip

Mark your calendars for August 10th & 11th.  This temple trip we will be going to Rexburg, Id and it will be an overnighter.

Girls Camp Bus

The bus will be at the church, 6am Tuesday, July 10th to pick up our lovely Young Women for girls camp.  Youth Leaders need to arrive at the church, 5:30am.  Youth Leaders will be riding with leaders in separate vehicles to arrive at camp before the bus.   Please don't be late or your parents will have to drive you to camp.

Wednesday Happenings ~ June 28th, 2012

This Wednesday the Youth Leaders have a Girls Camp meeting.  For the rest of the girls we will be learning how to do Origami.  Taught by or very own, talented Angel.

Did you know?

Did you know that this year at camp all the 1st years girls will be singing "I Feel my Saviors Love",  the 2nd year girls are singing "My Country `tis of Thee",  the 3rd year girls are singing "Walk Tall, You're a Daughter of God" and 4th year girls are singing "Scatter Sunshine".  If you don't already know the song of the year you are, you should be practicing it.  If you are a Youth Leader over one of these years, you need to be practicing it as well.  Do your best to be prepared.  :)

We are meeting at Sister Maki's House 7pm to make pillow cases.  You don't need to bring anything unless you want to bring your own special fabric.

April 7th, there is a baby shower for Melissa Sparks and they are looking for baby sitters for 2 hours for her kids at the church, so she can be at her shower, the shower is at 12:00, it would be a great service and could be used for personal progress. Just contact Sister Wilton, if you can help.  Thank you!

 

Wednesday Happenings ~ March 28th, 2012

This Wednesday we will be meeting at the church to watch the General Young Women broadcast.  It is a great broadcast!  We are so blessed that we can hear from General YW leaders and our Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. 
We will also be getting started on pillow cases.

Wednesday Happenings ~ March 21st, 2012

This week we will be doing family history.  I LOVE family history.  On our last youth temple trip I was able to prepare about 20 of my family's names to be baptized and confirmed members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  One of those names was my dear, sweet Grandpa Oien.  I was surprised and touched when Zack got up in Sacrament meeting and spoke of his experience in the temple when he said he got to do a special name and he felt more of a connection to him.  I know that we are doing the work of the Lord.  We are so blessed to be able to do this work and have this spiritual connection to our family members who have passed.  It is an amazing feeling to be touched by the spirit!  I hope that everyone can make it this Wednesday to get started on preparing your family history.  Please bring a family pedigree chart.

General Young Women Meeting

Young women 12 to 18, their mothers, and Young Women leaders are invited to participate on Saturday, March 24, at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel.

The 2012 Mutual theme is “Arise and shine forth, that thy light may be a standard for the nations” (Doctrine and Covenants 115:5).

Speakers will include the Young Women general presidency—President Elaine S. Dalton, First Counselor Mary N. Cook, and Second Counselor Ann M. Dibb—as well as a member of the First Presidency.

Wednesday Happenings ~ March 14th 2012 (UPDATE)

This Wednesday is combined with the YM.  Game night!  You can either play basketball or board games.  We will be having popcorn and snacks, if you feel like bringing something yummy to share, it would be great!  Everyone bring a board game.

Daylight Savings Time

That's right, daylight savings tomorrow March 11th.  Spring forward your clocks 1 hour and go to bed early tonight so it won't hurt so much in the morning.
